Natural Remedies for High and Low Blood Pressure



Blood pressure is the force with which the blood presses against the arterial walls as it circulates.

In a person with high blood pressure, or hypertension, this force is greater than normal and causes the arterial walls to narrow and thicken, putting extra strain on the heart.


Low blood pressure, or hypotension, is an abrupt fall in blood pressure possibly due to the heart's failure to maintain it or to severe loss of fluid from the circulation.



No matter which one you have...you can help maintain a normal blood pressure with the following natural remedies:

High Blood Pressure/Hypertension



Herbalism

  • HAWTHORN BERRIES: Strengthens the heart. Lowers blood pressure. Relaxes arteries. Take capsules according to directions on container. Make a tea of the flowering tops or a decoction of the berries (see picture below).

    Tincture recipe-Hawthorn Brandy:
    • Pick the flowering shoots (with flowers and leaves)-(see last picture on this page), wash, dry, and pack into a large jar, Cover with brandy and leave in a cool place for 2 weeks. Strain off the liquid, bottle, and label. Dose: 2 tablespoons daily).

  • BLOOD PRESSUREX:
