Herbal Preparation: Herbs 101

The best way to get the purest herbs is to grow them yourself in your herb garden.

Fresh herbs that can be used in salads, sandwiches, or soups

However, some herbs grow in the wild. You can purchase books that show you what wild herbs are edible and what are not. But...never gather roots or plants from the side of the road, by recently sprayed crops or foliage, or from sick-looking plants.

You can also buy dried herbs from herb stores, on-line bulk herb stores, and some whole food outlets.

Herbal products, remedies, tinctures, tablets, etc. are available from herb stores, some whole food stores, some general stores, online, and from herbal independent distributors.

CAUTION! Make sure you read labels and even research the company you are buying herbal products from. Some herbal supplements do not even contain much of the actual herb and may contain substances harmful to your body.

Herbal medicine is the oldest form of medicine known to humans. Before humans even had a written language they were already well versed in the medicinal use of plants.
